Conversations with Augustine: A Word of Thanks
August 27, 2008
Thanks to all who participated in the recent Augustine Blog Conference! The essays were fantastic, as were the commentaries. Perhaps I’ll organize another blog conference next summer. Any ideas for topics/themes?

Cynthia,
You put on a great conferece. It was conducted at a very high level of quality and specification, and will serve as a great resource. I hope you decide to put in the effort and do another next year. Perhaps you could so something similar with the Cappadocians?

Thanks, Travis! I enjoyed it, but I wish that I would have had more time to participate and interact with all of the essays/commentaries.

Congrats Cynthia. Seems to me like your first run at hosting a blog conference was pretty successful. Thanks again for allowing me to participate.

Cynthia,
Let me say first of all that I was happy to be able to offer a contribution for the conference, only I wish that I had more time to participate in the actual conversations…this was of course due to the fact that the conference just happened to coincide with some rather crazy things going on for me here! So, I’m really very sorry, especially as I really wanted to be able to participate! This really was a cool thing, and I do hope you can do more of it in the future.

Hi Mary,
Thanks again for your contribution. We’ll have to have you back again as a guest post participant.
Best wishes,

Thanks for inviting me, Cynthia. It will be interesting to see if the idea of blog conferences takes off. So long as the time commitments are kept reasonable–short essays, short replies–I think the idea may have quite a future.

Thanks to Cynthia for hosting the blog conference! I definitely think she’s on to something. And thanks to all the other contributors.

Thank you, Dr. Cary, for your contribution. I look forward to reading your new book in the future. Thanks also, Peter, for your participation and kind remarks. I cannot, however, take the credit for the blog conference ideas as Travis and David came up with the idea when they hosted the Barth Blog conference a year or so ago.
Best wishes to all,
Cynthia
