In keeping our history books largely bleached, we have allowed conscience to look to the future hoping that it will bear fruit of a past that did not exist.

Redemption only follows on the heels of repentance and repentance on the footsteps of knowledge and conviction. But of what is there to repent when America lives conveniently ignorant of huge portions of her own history?

These lines of history written, as it were, with lemon juice must have heat applied to their pages that their record might be known and not suppressed. Too much heat and the pages are burned up; too little and the ink remains suppressed in the pages of history.

Thanks for this post, Cynthia. Keep up the good work.
